Photos: Downtown Covington, Latonia Become Set for Redford Movie
Hollywood icon Robert Redford robbed banks in downtown Covington on Thursday.
His new film, The Old Man and the Gun, continued to shoot in the area, with the production arriving in Latonia on Wednesday and Thursday, and then downtown later on Thursday.
Redford was seen shooting a scene on Madison Avenue, entering the Citizens Federal Savings & Loan.
Film star Danny Glover was also on Madison Avenue along with co-star Tom Waits. The film also features Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek.
Old Man previously shot in Newport last week. Monmouth Street was closed and a couple of banks were re-branded to become actual locales from the true story that inspired the film.
The story originated in a 2003 New Yorker essay about a career bank robber, who died in 2004 at the age of 83. Redford plays lifetime criminal Forrest Tucker.
