RCN: We're Kicking Off July by Slowing Down a Little...

Hey, I know I don't have to tell you how much I love Covington and Northern Kentucky.

But, there's another place I love a lot, too.

And it also happens to be "northern".

I'm headed to my favorite summertime destination, Northern Michigan, for the next week and a half - so The River City News may be a little slower than usual and may have a little less content for you to read as we get through the July 4 holiday.

Hope you don't mind too much! It's been a long time since I've gone away for this long and I'm really looking forward to it.

The River City News has only one full-time employee - me. But, I'm grateful to have some amazing contributors like Jackie Demaline, Patricia A. Scheyer, Kareem Simpson, Brian Frey, and Carrie Crotzer, and all you readers who submit content and photos for us to publish. Luckily, while I'm away, we'll still be doing our best to cover the regular government meetings and breaking news stories as they happen... but I hope you'll take it easy on us while I try to catch my breath and relax a spell.

Yeah, I can't help myself, so it will be a "working" vacation... but only part-time.

Very part-time.

We'll be back at it full-speed in mid-July.

So keep the emails and Facebook and Twitter messages coming. We'll still be watching.

Only for a while, I'll be watching from the banks of Little Traverse Bay - looking for that second wind.

Thanks for making The River City News what it is today - and for subscribing to keep us going and growing.

See you in a couple weeks!
