Koenig Selected by House Speaker to Serve on National Committee
Rep. Adam Koenig (R-Erlanger) was appointed by Kentucky House Speaker Jeff Hoover (R-Jamestown) to the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Communications, Financial Services & Interstate Commerce (CFI) standing conference committee.
The CFI Committee focuses on states’ interests in federal areas such as electronic commerce, banking, insurance, securities and other financial services issues, interstate commerce and taxation of electronic transactions, telecommunications and interstate business activity taxes.
“I am truly honored Speaker Hoover chose me to represent the Kentucky House on NCSL’s Communications, Financial Services & Interstate Commerce standing conference committee,” said Koenig, in a news release. “Given the tremendous amount of federal law regulating these areas, it is important that states formulate policy that ease the regulatory burden on businesses, while also protecting consumers.”
Koenig, who chairs the House Licensing, Occupations and Administrative Regulations Committee and serves on the House Banking & Insurance Committee in the Kentucky House, has championed several bills in the past that fall within the focus of the CFI Committee.
“Adam has been a leader in Kentucky on major regulatory issues affecting banking and interstate commerce and will be a great asset to the CFI Committee on state-federal relations in regard to the important issues they face,” said Kentucky Speaker of the House Jeff Hoover, in an announcement.
Rep. Koenig will join legislators from across the country to exchange information on state policy approaches and to identify emerging issues of importance to state legislatures.
