Dayton Police K9 Gets In-Squad Kennel

It is pretty to safe to say that Dayton Police K9 Tesa is a hard-working crime-fighter, and maybe a little spoiled!

Hero K9 announced this week that an equipment grant was awarded to the Dayton Police Department to provide an in-squad kennel for Tesa - a generous gift thanks to public support of the organization valued at $2,500.

The three-and-a-half-year old Belgian Malinois is certified in patrol, narcotics, and article search, and she works with her partner, Sgt. Gil Marksberry. Together, they have been deployed more than 100 times and recovered meth, heroin, marijuana, and other controlled substances.

Tesa is described as very independent and social with an even, playful temper. She has a raspy voice and devours her meals!

The in-squad kennel, provided by American Aluminum in Perry, Fla., will ship directly to the department through Hero K9’s distributor, Streicher's, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Hero K9 has showered Tesa in gifts recently. In July, the Dayton Police Department was awarded a Door Pop + Heat Alarm System, valued at $1,500. Now, she's also got a complimentary BarkBox to go along with it!
