Photos: Beyond the Curb Showcases Newport's Urban Living Lifestyle

A gorgeous and sunny autumn Sunday was perfect for the return of Beyond The Curb to Newport.

The semi-annual urban living tour showcased the new, the old, and the in-between in the city.

More than 575 tickets were sold to people from more than 65 zip codes, according to the Catalytic Fund, which produces the event in the Northern Kentucky River Cities.

The one-day only, self-guided tour featured a mix of completed and in-progress historic homes, luxury condos, and modern apartments. The beautiful weather also gave attendees the opportunity to explore the eclectic, walkable neighborhoods of Newport.

“So many people in our region know Newport only from visiting the Aquarium or the Levee,” said Jill Morenz, of the Catalytic Fund. “We were very excited to share some of the other amenities that Newport has to offer, that are somewhat off the beaten path. In addition, our visitors got an exclusive look into beautifully finished homes, as well as a few houses currently being renovated, which helped visitors imagine the possibilities in the gorgeous old buildings of Newport.”

The tour has taken place in Covington twice, as well as Ludlow and Bellevue/Dayton once. This is the second tour in Newport.
