Two Adults, Three Children Killed in Kenton County Crash
Five people are dead after a head-on crash on Staffordsburg Road late Thursday afternoon.
Police identified the victims as Rodney Pollitt, Jr., 26, of Independence, and Samantha Malohn, 27, Hailieann Pollitt, 9, Brenden Pollitt, 8, Cailie Pollitt, 6, all of Dry Ridge. They were all in the same vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that happened just before 5 p.m.
A sixth person, Daniel Greis, 57, of Independence, was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Police Chief Spike Jones said that Staffordsburg Road, in unincorporated Kenton County, is busy during the late afternoon as drivers commute back and forth between Kenton and Campbell Counties.
On Friday, the Kenton County Police released additional details of the early stages of accident's investigation. They said that Greis was driving westbound on Staffordsburg when his 2014 Honda Pilot went left of center and crashed into an eastbound 1993 Honda Accord driven by Pollitt.
