Artisan Market Coming to Covington's Carnegie for Holiday

An artisan market is coming to the Carnegie.

The arts center is hosting the Carnegie's Holiday Artisan Market on Saturday, November 25 from 1 to 6 p.m.

It will feature an array of activities for the whole family including children’s crafts, holiday-themed games, and Christmas karaoke on the Otto M. Budig Theater stage.

Those looking to pick up gifts for loved ones can feel good supporting independent artists while purchasing unique items from area artists in the Ohio National Financial Services Main Gallery. Local food and beverage vendors will also be on hand.

“We’re so excited about the Artisan Market,” said Carnegie theatre director Maggie Perrino. “It’s a great way to give back while doing your holiday shopping. Every artisan, crafter, or small manufacturer will feature goods made right here in the community. So if you’re tired of the mall, come spend Small Business Saturday at The Carnegie with the most unique selection of gifts you’ll find this holiday season.”

A sampling of the artists participating in the Holiday Artisan Market include:

Aaron Delamatre with pencil and ink drawings, original comics, and handmade frames; Holly Prochaska, Gorgeous Ladies of Preservation, selling handmade books of leather and marbled paper; Caren Young with pillows made from new and upcycled vintage fabrics; Jackie Slone, One Small Bird Studio, selling mosaic art, mosaic jewelry, original artworks and collages; Carla Trujillo who is selling printmaking, woodcut pictures, etchings, and assemblages; Ken Page showcasing original paintings; Jeffrey Cortland Jones and Heather Jones with quilts, quilt patterns, and prints; Christopher Howes, TheGrotesquerie.comm, selling hand sculpted ceramic portrait pipes, teapot sets, bottles, incense burners, tiles, and faience Egyptian pendants; and Nancy Howes showcasing mixed media frameables, hand painted tile coaster sets, and holiday cards.

Admission to The Carnegie’s Holiday Artisan Market is $5 for individuals, and $15 for families of four. Tickets are available in advance at www.thecarnegie.com or by calling 859.957.1940 Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m.

The Carnegie is located at 1028 Scott Boulevard in Covington.
