Local Authors Showcase at Joseph-Beth in Crestview Hills on Saturday
Joseph-Beth Booksellers is hosting a local author showcase on Saturday featuring The River City News contributor Rick Robinson (whom you also hear weighing in on D.C. and Frankfort issues on WNKR's Northern kentucky Focus with Michael Monks).
Robinson's new book, The Promise of Cedar Key, is the second in his Florida series and is described as a coming of age novel for people still waiting to come of age.
The story involves a successful novelist that must put aside the hustle and bustle of a writer's life in New York City just long enough to fulfill a promise he made long
ago. In the few days he must spend in the small Gulf Coast town of Cedar Key, the author faces demons he never knew existed and would rather drink away than fight.
Named one of the best novels of 2018 by the Florida Writers and Publishers Association, The Promise of Cedar Key is a follow up (but not a sequel) to Alligator Alley, which is set in a small community not-so-loosely based on Ludlow, Robinson's hometown.
The release is part of Joseph Beth’s Local Author Showcase featuring signings by Robinson, Heidi Bright, Carla Carlton, Mike Due, Dennis Hetzel, and Carol Peachee.
The singing is at the Joseph-Beth location in Crestview Hills and starts at 1 p.m.
