Two Local Basketball Players Join 1,000 Point Clubs
Two local high school basketball players joined the 1,000 Point Clubs in recent days.
Holmes senior Laila Johnson dropped her one thousandth point last week in a game against Ludlow. She had 14 points in that big 76 to 30 win over the Panthers. On Monday night, Johnson added 19 more points to her total as the Bulldogs beat Mason Co., 71 to 60.
Holmes is 3-0 on the season and take the floor again Wednesday night at home against St. Henry.
On Monday, Newport Central Catholic senior Brennan Hall scored his one thousandth point when he dropped 24 in a 79 to 49 Thoroughbreds win at Lloyd.
"This achievement is a tremendous accomplishment and is a result of all the daily hard work he has put into the game of basketball," said New Cath head coach Kenny Collopy.
Newport Catholic is 3-0 on the season. The 'Breds host Dixie Heights on Wednesday night.
