Covington Partners Competes in Regional Fundraiser
Covington Partners is competing in Cincinnati Magazine's Cincinnati Gives Challenge, a fundraising campaign hosted by Crowdrise, a crowdsourcing platform.
The challenge, sponsored by Procter and Gamble, offers local charities and organizations to connect donors to the needs of local nonprofits.
More than one hundred local organizations are participating, competing for $30,000 in prize money.
“We are thrilled to participate in this year’s Cincinnati Gives Challenge,” said executive director Stacie Strotman. “This is an excellent opportunity for us to build awareness about Covington Partners and raise funds to support our mission of eliminating boundaries to learning and success for Covington students.”
The Cincinnati Gives Challenge launched on Giving Tuesday, November 28, will end on January 2 at 2 p.m. The organization that raises the most money during the challenge wins a $15,000 donation while second place wins $6,000 and third place wins $3,000. Weekly bonus challenges offer non-profits the chance to win additional funds. One-hundred percent of the funds raised on Crowdrise through the magazine’s challenge are transferred directly to the participating charities.
Currently, Covington Partners is in eleventh place, with just over $3,000 raised.
Cincinnati Magazine’s Cincinnati Gives Challenge is the first of its kind in the city. It was designed to leverage the power of the crowd to make a powerful and meaningful impact in the community, according to a news release. This is the second year of the month-long challenge. Last year it raised nearly $250,000 for local charities.
