Photos: Newport Police Take Local Kids Christmas Shopping

Twenty-one children from two schools in Newport accompanied the Newport Police Department on Saturday morning to shop for Christmas presents for themselves and their families.

FOP Lodge 2 raised enough money to provide each child with $350 so they could have a Christmas to remember, picking out toys that they really wanted.

Officers and their families took the children to breakfast at McDonald's, then to Target, and then back to the station for pizza after a morning of shopping.

Campbell Co. dispatchers also helped out.

RCN's Patricia A. Scheyer produced these photos.
