19 Photos of Covington's Flooded Riverfront
The Ohio River has become quite a star attraction over the past several days, as people flock to the Northern Kentucky river cities to gawk at the high water and drowned streets and landmarks.
In Covington, dozens of people crowded into George Rogers Clark Park in the Covington's Licking Riverside neighborhood. The water has risen to the feet of the Simon Kenton statue there.
Other statues are nearly completely submerged, including the ones of bridge building John Roebling, Chief Little Turtle, bird painter John James Audubon, and former slave/noted scholar James Bradley (usually seen enjoying a book on a bench).
RCN's Brian Frey produced these photos.
