Villa Madonna Student Accepted to Governor's School for the Arts
Villa Madonna Academy sophomore Caroline Montgomery of Hebron has been accepted in the Governor’s School for the Arts.
GSA is a competitive program for which sophomores and juniors audition to be accepted. Students may audition in nine different art disciplines. About 200 promising young artists from Kentucky are accepted each year.
Montgomery was accepted into the discipline of dance and will attend the program at Centre College in Danville this summer.
GSA has been around for 29 years. The program boasts opportunities beyond arts instruction. Ninety-eight percent of GSA alumni earn scholarships, and their average scholarship total value is $79,600. GSA alumni also score 8.5 points higher on the ACT than the Kentucky average.
