136 Graduate from Chase College of Law
Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law awarded 134 Juris Doctor degrees and two Masters of Legal Studies to graduates during a commencement ceremony May 4 at BB&T Arena.
The Honorable Amul R. Thapar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit served as the Commencement speaker, sharing advice and lessons learned with the Class of 2018. Judge Thapar was awarded the Doctor of Laws honorary degree. Graduates also heard from the President of Student Bar Association Michael Bromellas.
During the ceremony, Co-Acting Dean Michael Whiteman praised the Class of 2018 for being dedicated to the well-being of their community and also intensely dedicated to their studies. He also presented Jedidah Morrell with the Salmon P. Chase Award.
“Jedidah’s commitment to addressing social justice issues and helping the underserved is inspiring,” said Acting Dean Whiteman. “Now with her law degree, I’m sure she will continue to do great things. We are proud to award her the Salmon P. Chase Award.”
