Hoffer to Receive Kenton County Pioneer Award

Local attorney Bob Hoffer will receive the Kenton County Pioneer Award at Tuesday's meeting of the Kenton County Fiscal Court.

Hoffer is a partner with DBL Law.

The Pioneer Award was established in 2017 to honor living residents of the county for outstanding service to the community.

Hoffer heads DBL's employment law division and has represented hospitals and physicians for more than thirty years on employment and medical negligence issues.

“We ask all of our attorneys to get involved and lead organizations and to be passionate about service to others. Bob is one to admire and emulate. He helps people when they need it the most,” said DBL Law managing partner Jim Dressman.

In 2012, Hoffer was named Distinguished Lawyer of the Year by the Northern Kentucky Bar Association and was recognized as a Kentucky Super Lawyer. He is chairman of the St. Elizabeth Foundation and a member of the St. Elizabeth Healthcare board of trustees.

“For more than 30 years, Bob Hoffer has actively volunteered for St. Elizabeth Healthcare and currently serves as a board member and St. Elizabeth Foundation chair. Bob is a brilliant lawyer, a well-respected, community-minded and humble servant leader,” said Carri Chandler, vice president, St. Elizabeth Foundation. “As a community, we are blessed with Bob’s thoughtful engagement, wise counsel and leadership in many organizations.”

The Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America, presented Hoffer with the Trailblazer Award in 2015. He was recognized by Covington Catholic High School as the Northern Kentuckian of the Year in 2012.

Among his many acts of service, Hoffer participates in an annual mission trip to Jamaica, helping provide housing and care facilities to disabled adults. “it’s the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life and to share that experience with equally passionate and committed friends,” Hoffer said.

He and his wife, Diane, live in Ft. Mitchell. They have four children and three grandchildren.
