Firehouse Subs returns to Highland Heights on Monday, June 25, under new ownership.
Christopher Baker is the new owner.
This is the first restaurant for Baker, who previously worked with the brand as a general manager and has been in the restaurant industry for 15 years.
“It has always been a dream of mine to own a restaurant, and that dream has finally become a reality,” Baker said. “From the minute I joined the Firehouse Subs family, I knew it was where I belonged."
"Their passion for quality food and heartfelt service is second to none and I look forward to reigniting the flame in Highland Heights,” Baker continued.
Baker is dedicated to continuing Firehouse Subs’ commitment to helping public safety organizations through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has donated more than $459,200 in grants to the state of Kentucky.
The Highlands Heights location opened originally in 2013 but closed earlier this year.
The reopened restaurant is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is located near Northern Kentucky University. It sells sub sandwiches with firefighting-inspired names like, the hook & ladder and the firehouse meatball.
A national chain founded by former firefighting brothers, the new Highland Heights restaurant, like the other locations, features a firefighting-themed decor. The Highland Heights location has a hand-painted mural by Chief Mural Artist Joe Puskas depicting a team of local firefighters along with the Northern Kentucky University mascot, entering a burning building.
