Burlington Man Accused in Liquor Theft from Two Boone Restaurants
A Burlington man is behind bars, suspected in the burglaries of two Boone County restaurants.
Deven Nelson, 18, was arrested and charged with two counts of third degree burglary after the Boone County Sheriff's Office reports that he allegedly broke into the Backyard Grill and Tousey House Tavern.
At the Backyard Grill, where Nelson is suspected of entering on June 27, sheriff's deputies suspect that the 18-year old took three bottles of liquor. He was allegedly captured on surveillance video.
On Monday, Nelson is accused of entering Tousey House and taking more bottles of liquor.
Nelson reportedly worked at Tousey House previously, and had recently applied to work there again.
According to the sheriff's office, Nelson was spotted less than a mile from Tousey House Tavern and was stopped by a deputy. He agreed to be interviewed and the sheriff's office says that Nelson confessed to both burglaries.
He is being held on $25,000 bond.
