New Access Road Under Construction at CVG Airport
Construction begins this week at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) on a new entrance road designed to improve access to the facility.
The entrance will serve the main terminal and connection to the consolidated rental car facility to be built in 2019 to 2021 when it will open.
The project will eliminate the wide, sweeping loop that supported the former terminals 1 and 2. It will also result in the partial demolition of the terminal garage, changes the flow of traffic to the arrival/pick-up and departure/drop-off ramps, and a new entrance plaza to the terminal garage.
“CVG is experiencing record-breaking growth, and with more passengers coming through our front door this project will improve access to the airport and elevate the passenger experience,” said Candace McGraw, CVG's CEO. “The updates and new rental car facility will also eliminate emissions from shuttles circling back and forth from rental car lots and the Terminal and continue to make CVG competitive.”
