Person Barricaded Inside Covington Home, Police Say
Police made entry at a home on East 13th Street in Covington late Monday night.
A woman had barricaded herself inside a bathroom at 214 East 13th Street where police responded following a report of shots being fired inside.
Dakota Peterson told police that a woman inside the home was in possession of a gun.
Police made contact with the woman, Patricia Vesneski, who confessed to being in possession of a gun.
The entire block was surrounded by officers, with access to 13th blocked from Garrard and Greenup Streets. An alley between 13th and Trevor streets was also blocked off.
After an hours-long standoff, SWAT team members convinced Vesneski to exit the bathroom at around 11 p.m.
She was taken to the hospital without incident and no charges are being filed at this time, police said.
However, police arrested Peterson, 30, on an outstanding and unrelated warrant.
