For Sale: Twin Oaks Golf Course in Latonia

It was one of Latonia's best-known landmarks, and now it can be yours.

Twin Oaks Golf & Plantation Club is on the market, listed at $3,995,000.

The golf course was built in 1927.

Since 1977 it has been owned and operated by Rosemary and James Swingos.

The couple plan to retire to their home in Florida, according to real estate agent Susan Huff of Huff Realty.

"They decided it's time to retire and they have a place in Florida and they want to spend their time down there as much as possible," Huff said.

In addition to the property and its business, which includes an event space, clubhouse, and bar, the employees all hope to stay on, Huff said.

"The crew is fabulous," she said. "The people love working there and they have all said we'll star and keep doing what we're doing."

Huff has a connection to the property, too.

Her father was the real estate agent who sold the property to the Swingos in 1977. He's helping her on this deal, too.

Since the listing was announced on Sunday, Huff said the response has been overwhelming.

"The calls and texts I've received, it's really, truly unbelievable," she said.

It is an attractive opportunity for the right business investor.

"It is a big-time money-making operation. It's driving tremendously and booked with weddings and events and breakfasts. They do a fabulous job with that and they are knocking it out of the ballpark," Huff said.

The 154 acres of golf course includes the clubhouse and two maintenance buildings. The clubhouse boasts 12,000 sq. ft. on the main level, and an additional 12,000 sq. ft. on its lower level where the golf carts and other materials are stored. The bar seats a hundred people.

"It's a great opportunity and great property. It's awesome," Huff said. "It's a thriving, healthy business waiting for someone to come in and take over what they've built for forty years."
