Kenton Co Guardsman Killed in North Dakota Crash

Ronald Forsyth II was one of two Kentucky National Guardsmen killed in a car crash in Devils Lake, North Dakota Thursday. Media reports indicate that Forsyth, 31, lived in Ryland Heights and his Facebook page says he is from Covington. He died along with Jason Brunette, 23, of Clay County when the car they were traveling in lost control and smashed into a tree. From WKYT:

"He was our Superman. Ronnie was our Superman. He said 'mom, you were always my hero.' My son's my hero," cries Forsyth's mother, Rhonda Ashbrook.
Ashbrook says Forsyth was supposed to return home from training Sunday.
"No mother ever wants that news, and there's another mother hurts just as badly as I do and I feel for her. We want our boys back. We want our babies back."

The driver of the vehicle has been charged in the deaths according to the Jamestown Sun:

Christopher Brandt, 23, of Kentucky, faces two counts of manslaughter, a Class B felony, and a count of reckless endangerment, a Class C felony.

Brandt and David Duncan, 23, were injured in the crash. All four men were members of the Kentucky National Guard and were in North Dakota for training.
