Changes at Anderson Ferry Include New Online Store
From a press release:
Anderson Ferry, a transporter of vehicles across the Ohio River, unveiled an online store and announced a new ticket purchasing system that will bring their outdated paper-ticket system into the 21st century. Anderson Ferry owner Paul Anderson said, “This new online store and mobile app will really make ticketing easier. Now customers can buy tickets from their phones.”
Anderson Ferry’s enhanced ticketing system includes features designed for today’s busy consumer. Customers can purchase 10- and 40-ride packages from their mobile devices or computers with secured online credit card transactions. Additionally they can see up-to-the-minute news feeds that display announcements, delays and closures.
Designed and programmed by local consultant Christina Wood, the new system allows Anderson Ferry customers to connect, schedule and purchase through their digital devices. “There were a lot of obstacles when devising a new ticketing system for the Anderson Ferry,” said Wood, “The previous method of purchasing had become outdated.” The lack of electricity and land-line internet access at the Ferry itself posed a distinct challenge when designing the new system. “The combination of paper ticketing and mobile purchasing was exactly what was needed,” said Wood.
The Anderson Ferry has been in business since 1817 and runs daily.
