Art in the Park's Silent Auction is Underway, Benefits 3 Bellevue Schools
Art in the Park returns to Bellevue's Thomas J. Wiethorn Memorial Beach Park on Saturday, September 9.
Before the vendors show up to the park, there is an opportunity to participate in the annual silent auction, the proceeds of which benefit Bellevue High School, Grandview Elementary School, and Holy Trinity School.
The auction, which is currently on display at Frame & Hang Gallery and then moves to the Thomas J. Wiethorn Memorial Beach Park for Art in the Park, features items donated by the artists you’ll see as you stroll the charming park nestled on the Ohio River.
From the 2016 Art in the Park donated funds, Bellevue High School students were able to do their first printmaking project. “This had been on their/our wish list for several years,” said art teacher Lori Herring. “Now we can make it part of our annual curriculum!”
Teresa McHugh, art teacher at Holy Trinity’s Elementary and Junior High school, used the money from last year's auction to repair their kiln, and purchase clay and glazes. Pottery, she says, would not have been an option if not for these donations.
Art in the Park runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
