Norse are 2-0 Ahead of Bahamas Trip
Northern Kentucky is now 2-0 to start the new season after coasting to a 93-65 win over Division III Wilmington on Sunday afternoon at BB&T Arena.
The win comes as the Norse prepare to head to the Caribbean for the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase.
Drew McDonald and Jeff Garrett recorded double-doubles, with McDonald scoring 18 with 11 rebounds, and Garrett knocking down a career-high 13 points and 15 rebounds.
The achievement marked the first time since December 5, 2015 that NKU had two players with a double-double.
Lavone Holland II was also in double figures in scoring with 10 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds.
Chris Vogt, Jordan Garnett, and Tyler Sharpe all added 8 points apiece.
Eleven different players scored for the Norse, who outrebounded the Fightin' Quakers, 50-26 in the game.
NKU shot 50 percent from the field.
The Norse defense has forced 36 turnovers in its first two games and have held opponents to just 8-of-43 shooting from 3-point range in that stretch.
The Norse will play James Madison on Friday, Nov. 17 in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
