Ludlow Brewery Opens Tap Room
BIRCUS Brewing Co. the will open its doors to the public with pints and flights available for sale on Saturday, December 2 from noon to 11 p.m. as a part of Shop Ludlow Day.
“One hundred years ago an amusement park in Ludlow closed its doors due to the prohibition of beer sales during World War I. Today, we are permitted to pour beer brewed in Ludlow and are taking a major step in opening our creative destination, the BIRCUS Brewing Co.,” said Paul Miller, of Circus Mojo and the BIRCUS Brewing Co.
Patrons can sample eight beers including Comic Walrus Cranberry Ginger American Ale, The Breaded Lady, a German-style Kolsch brewed with bread from Blue Oven Bakery, IronFest Ale, Brewed special for the Southgate House Revival, Alta Via Altbier, Miss Patterson Belgian Blonde named after Miss America from 1931 who grew up in Ludlow, The Showman IPA named after an 1800 Impresario from England that lived in Ludlow before it was named Ludlow. Lagoon Scotch Ale named for Ludlow’s famous amusement park that closed 100 years ago and the Attila The Plum, a Belgian Triple brewed with Asian Plums and Black Tea special for Covington’s AmerAsia KungFood Kitchen.
Regular hours will be Thursday 5-9 p.m., Friday 3-11 p.m., Saturday noon - 11 p.m., and Sunday 3-8 p.m.
BIRCUS has secured $328,000 from 103 investors so far.
This weekend marks the Final Shop Ludlow Event for 2017. BIRCUS Brewing Co has a dedicated parking lot at the corner of Davies and Cedar Alley, two blocks from Elm Street in downtown Ludlow.
