Teen Vogue: Covington 1 of 9 Unexpected Spring Break Destinations
Well, those of us who call Northern Kentucky home may not think of it as much of a spring break-type of destination, the folks at Teen Vogue beg to differ.
And they make a compelling case!
Take a look at how the popular magazine gushed over Covington in its new article, "9 Unexpected Spring Break Road Trip Destinations":
Traveling to Kentucky might not be on the first thing on your bucket list, but maybe it should be. This city is pleasantly surprising in so many ways. Located charmingly across from Cincinnati with the Ohio River serving as its border (sort of the same way that Brooklyn complements Manhattan), Covington is quite picturesque. It has a hip flair while still beholding its historic grace, and Madison Avenue ideally illustrates that. On this long stretch, which goes from the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge to Meinken Park, you can find eclectic dining including Amerasia (an excellent dive-type Taiwanese restaurant) and Frida 602 (a Mexican eatery that is of course a Frida Kahlo-themed establishment) — and also the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption that will leave you breathless. There's also plenty of live music at the Madison Theater, that used to be a retro movie house, and at the Thompson House Newport, an 1820s-era mansion. One of the coolest places in Covington, however, has to be Hotel Covington — an uber trendy boutique hotel that puts most Manhattan hotels to shame. Here you can find luxury digs (super affordable), an adorable gift shop (meant more for browsing than shopping), and a gorgeous lounge during the day. And the food at Coppin's is simply to die for.
Well, they're not wrong! See the full article here.
