Robert Redford Film Shot in Covington, Newport Announces Release Date
A film partially shot in Covington and Newport will be released this fall.
The Old Man and the Gun - starring Hollywood legend Robert Redford - will hit theaters on October 5.
The story is about a man who escaped from prison when he was 70 and then went on a string of bank robberies. Multiple banks in and around Newport and Covington were used for the Texas-based film.
Redford dazzled fans a year ago when he shot scenes on Monmouth Street, Madison Avenue, and Latonia.
Old Man was one of many Hollywood films to shoot in the area in recent years. Most recently, the biopic about serial killer Ted Bundy, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, starring Zac Efron as Bundy, shot around the region earlier this year.
Last fall, Haunt shot in Northern Kentucky. It'll hit theaters courtesy of the writers behind the hit thriller A Quiet Place.
