Bond Set at $1 Million for Suspected Killer of Cancer Patient

One of two people accused of killing a cancer patient from Covington received will remain in jail on $1 million bond.

Kenneth Maurice Jones, 38, was arrested over the weekend and is in the Kenton County Detention Center. He was arraigned Monday morning on a murder charge and will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on June 26.

His $1 million bond must be paid in full, in cash, a judge ordered. He also faces charges of robbery and tampering with evidence, as well as a probation violation.

An unnamed teenager is also charged with murder and is being held in the Campbell County Juvenile Detention Center.

Braedon Reaves, 18, was also arrested in connection with the case. He is charged with facilitation to homicide and will appear for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday. Reaves is being held on $50,000 bond.

On June 12, Covington Police issued a Golden Alert for Denita Satchwell, of Latonia, who had not been seen for three days. The news release said that Satchwell was without needed medications. She was battling stage four lung cancer.

On Thursday night, her body was found in a wooded area near Rabbit Hash.

His bond must be paid in full in cash, the judge ordered, due to the seriousness of the crime.

Jones is due back in court June 26 at 1:30 p.m.

He was arrested Friday and booked into the Kenton County jail on charges of murder, robbery and tampering with evidence. He also faces a probation violation charge for a felony offense, according to jail records.

He is the third person in custody in connection with the homicide of Denita Satchwell of Covington, 58.

A teenager is being held on charges of murder, attempted robbery and tampering with evidence at the Campbell County Juvenile Detention Facility. The teen's name has not been released.

The third suspect, Braedon Reaves, was charged with facilitation to homicide.

He remains locked up at the Kenton County jail on a $50,000, bond, records show. Reaves is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Satchwell was reported missing a little over a week ago.

Covington police put out a Golden Alert for her on June 12 because she needed time-sensitive medication that she did not have with her.

Her body found in a wooded area near Rabbit Hash on Thursday.

It isn't clear whether the suspects and victim knew each other, authorities have said.
