Ft. Mitchell Man Gets 45-Year Prison Sentence for Rape, Child Pornography
A man convicted of rape and promoting and possessing child pornography was sentenced to 45 years in prison on Tuesday.
Matthew Ryan Bucher, 30, of Fort Mitchell, was found guilty in May and Kenton County Circuit Judge Patricia Summe followed the jury's recommended sentence.
Bucher was convicted of second degree rape, six counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor under 16, and six counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
He must serve at least 20 years in prison and complete sex offender treatment before being eligible for parole.
Bucher must register as a sex offender for life.
He still faces trial in other cases.
The rape charge came from Bucher's sexual activity with a 12-year old girl.
Following his arrest, Kenton County Police Chief Spike Jones called Bucher "the worst of the worst".
Ultimately, investigators found 60,000 images of child porn on Bucher's phone, some of which were produced by him.
