Busy Day for Governor in Covington
Governor Steve Beshear will spend several hours in Covington on Wednesday as his expanded schedule now includes stops at two growing businesses.
On Wednesday, it was reported by The River City News that Beshear would attend the groundbreaking of the new Northern Kentucky Career Center to be constructed at the former site of Robke Chevrolet on Madison Avenue.
The governor's schedule also includes an appearance at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Government Forum at the Madison Event Center, starting at 11:30 a.m. At that event, Beshear is expected to discuss issues facing the Northern Kentucky region as well as what to expect from the 2014 General Assembly.
Two new additions to his schedule include one stop at the RiverCenter office towers.
A news release describes the occasion as economic development announcements involving "two home-grown informatics companies". The River City News has learned that those companies are Tier One Performance Solutions (and its new health care endeavor) as well as dba Direct, a company that recently located to the towers from Florence.
The Governor's schedule looks like this: 11:30 a.m. at the Madison Events Center for the Chamber forum, 1:15 p.m. at the former Robke site for the Career Center groundbreaking, and then 2:45 p.m. for the announcements at RiverCenter.
