Photos: Holmes Girls Rout Williamstown, 77-30

The Holmes Bulldogs returned to its dominating ways after a couple of close calls in recent games.

Holmes improved to 22-1 on the season with a rout of Williamstown at home on Wednesday, 77-30.

The Bulldogs' pressure defense stymied the Demons, creating steals that resulted in a 24 to 4 run to close out the first quarter with a 30 to 8 lead. By halftime, it was 57 to 12.

The referees called for a running clock in the second half and Holmes went to its bench and several reserves saw increased playing time.

Since starting the season at 18-0 and then suffering its first loss to Holy Cross, Holmes has fought off tough Newport Central Catholic and Highlands squads by two points each, and have routed Newport and Williamstown.

The Lady Bulldogs are back in action on Friday against Ryle (13-7) and Williamstown (12-10) travels to Newport (13-11) on Friday.
