Weekend Comedy Show to Benefit 9-11 Memorial in Northern Kentucky
The Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial Committee hosts “Stand-Up For 9/11”, an evening of comedy benefiting the construction of the Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial on Saturday, April 25 from 8-10 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.).
It's happening at the Taylor Mill Moose Lodge 1469 (5347 Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill).
Headlining the show is Michael Flannery, who has appeared on Showtime, HBO, and Comedy Channel. He has performed with Jay Leno, Robin Williams, Drew Carey, Ellen DeGeneres, Jerry Seinfeld, Pat Paulson, and the Smothers Brothers.
“9/11 is something our generation will never forget. But that’s not enough. We need to make sure that every generation after us never forgets either. I’m glad, very glad to be a part of this event," Flannery said.
Other comics performing at the show are Tim Collins, winner of Stand-Up New York's "Search for the Funniest Irish Comedian” who has also opened for Billy Gardell (of TV show, Mike and Molly). “I am truly honored to be part of the fundraising event for the Northern Kentucky 9/11 memorial," Gardell said. "This will be a great show, for an even greater cause! Invite all your friends ... and let’s get this thing finished!”
Terry Foster, is a registered nurse who can be seen on cable's Untold Stories of the ER and Sex Sent Me to the ER. “I am more than happy to participate in a fundraiser for the 9/11 Memorial. It’s a reminder that life is too short, so have fun! And I’ll to my part to help you with that,” Foster said.
Organizer and comedian Loraine Braun won a “Clash of the Comics” at The Funny Bone on the Levee, and was a semi-finalist in the Funniest Person in Northern Kentucky.
“I look forward to a fun night for a great cause,” said the event’s MC, Michael Monks, Editor and Publisher of The River City News.
