Promoting Northern Kentucky to the British: Video Being Shot in Newport
A marketing campaign targeted to British travelers will feature a video to be shot in Newport on Monday.
The Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism is working to attract visitors from the United Kingdom. Brand USA is helping the effort by promoting the Northern Kentucky riverfront.
Brand USA was established in 2010 by the United States Travel Promotion Act following a decade of declining foreign visitors to the U.S. It was recently reauthorized by Congress through 2020, and comes at no cost to taxpayers, according to a fact sheet distributed by the organization.
The promotions created use the native language and dialect of the target audience and showcase activities and interests unique to each country based on Brand USA research.
On Monday afternoon, a video will be shot at Newport on the Levee and the Hofbrauhaus featuring an East Sussex native who now lives stateside.
The original plan was to shoot along the Covington riverfront but that was scrapped due to high water at the Ohio River.
