Man Charged After Passenger Falls Out of Truck on Main Street
A man is behind bars after allegedly fleeing the scene when a passenger fell out of the back of his pick-up.
Covington Police tell The River City News that at around 3 p.m. on Monday, David Marlatt was riding in the back of a pick-up on Main Street in Mainstrasse Village and when the vehicle went to make a turn on Seventh Street, Marlatt was ejected and suffered a serious head injury.
Evon Wehrman, 41, the driver, fled the scene, according to police. Marlatt was transported to the hospital and his condition is not currently known.
The truck and Wehrman were located later and Wehrman was arrested after being questioned at Police Headquarters. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid.
Wehrman is being held on a $2,500 bond and is expected to appear in court on May 12.
