NKY Church to Host Hero's Lunch on September 12
St. Luke Lutheran Church of Cold Spring is one of nearly 10,000 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) participating in “God’s work. Our hands.” A day of service on September 12. Across the country, thousands of ELCA members are engaging in service work to make a positive change in their communities, build and deepen relationships, and share God’s love.
Members of St. Luke are will be welcoming firefighters, police officers, paramedics and other community heroes from their area to the church on Alexandria Pike in Northern Kentucky from to 2:00-5:00 p.m. on September 12 to share a meal and words of thanks to those who dedicate their lives every day to serving our community. For over 50 years, St. Luke Lutheran Church has been deeply rooted in their community and is known for their passion in engaging the community.
St. Luke Lutheran Church joins other ELCA congregations across the country to boldly participate in God’s work in the world – restoring and reconciling communities, and pursuing peace and justice.
“We are excited to show love to those who silently serve us every day,” said Roger Dill, a member of St. Luke.
