St. Joseph's Middle School Makes Final Four Run at State Governor's Cup
The St. Joseph Crescent Springs Middle School Academic Team's Quick Recall players competed in the Final Four of the Governor’s Cup State Finals today in Louisville.
Weekend play preceded today’s final rounds. Earlier this morning, the team was one of over 350 teams in the state of Kentucky to advance to the Final Four.
The team lost in their first Final Four round to Johnson County before defeating Campbell County to finish in 3rd place overall.
This is the first time a Catholic school has ever advanced to the Final Four, according to a team spokeperson.
This team is coached by Andy and Melissa Strange. Participating students are Luke Eisner, Emma Jennings, Sam Strange, Peter Roesel, Amelia Coomes, Zach Serra, Niko Papakirk, and Jack Bell.
“This is very exciting for our students that have put so much time into the Academic Team,” said Cathy Stover, Principal at St. Joseph Crescent Springs. “Making it to the Final Four has always been an aspiration for these students, and now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be more proud."
