Braxton Hosting Summer Block Party in Covington

Braxton Brewing Company will be bringing the community together once again for another block party on June 18 in Covington.

This party, a summer edition, will celebrate the neighborhood tradition of grilling out. The brewing company will be throwing a food fest highlighting The Big Green Egg. In addition, Braxton will be brewing a specialty beer to be released on the day of the event, pouring specialty summer beers from around the Cincinnati craft beer community, hosting a Big Green Egg grilling competition, providing live music, and more. The event will take place in the Madlot directly west of the brewery. It will be separate from regular taproom hours and operations.

“There are few things that go together better than grilling and beer. This summer, we couldn’ t be more thrilled to partner with The Big Green Egg to host our own Eggfest!” said Jake Rouse, self-proclaimed ‘ Egghead’  and Co-Founder/CEO of Braxton Brewing Company. “The party features food sampling from local restaurants all prepared on the Big Green Egg and is paired with a special beer release as well as guest taps!”

Tickets to the event will be $10 to pre-purchase or $15 on the day of the event. With a ticket, guests will receive access to the Madlot where they can sample the food and listen to live music.  This is also where Braxton’ s specialty beer and guest taps will be available for purchase.

Tickets can be purchased here.

“It's always fun to see a crazy idea that that you have discussed come to life," said Evan Rouse, Co-Founder and Head Brewer at Braxton Brewing Company, "Spending my nights and weekends grilling has always been a favorite hobby of mine. The beer that we have created for this event will pair perfectly with the day’ s festivities!”

Braxton Brewing Co. will also be celebrating the grilling season with some of Greater Cincinnati’ s favorite flavor purveyors. Flipdaddy’ s Burgers sliders, The Oak Tavern wings, and Wunderbar sausages will be available to sample. In addition, Big Green Egg National will be preparing samples showing off the versatility of “the most versatile barbecue or outdoor cooking product on the market.”

For those interested in learning more about Big Green Egg or fine tuning their grilling/smoking skills, free Eggucation classes will be offered to anyone with a ticket to the event. These classes will take place in the Madlot throughout the day and be taught by Big Green Egg experts.

The competition will feature 10 local teams competing to create the best rib recipe on the Big Green Egg. Food samples will be available beginning at 12:30 p.m. and concluding at 5:30 p.m. The teams will be using local seasoning provider, Colonel De, to flavor their meats.

The Brewing Company is currently finalizing the music lineup that will play live throughout the day.
