Michael Monks founded The River City News in 2011 and built it into an influential daily publication, a must-read for government insiders, civic leaders, business interests, and community enthusiasts in Northern Kentucky. Michael is a sought-after host and moderator for important local forums and discussions, and is the Talent Champion of the 2015 Dancing With the Children's Law Center Stars competition. His live broadcasts on Facebook are watched by thousands and his podcast was honored as Best Professional Audio Production at the 2016 Blue Chip Media Awards. Michael holds a master's degree in communication and has worked in the Cincinnati media market since 2003. He lives in his beloved downtown Covington (where he grew up), is a regular performer on local theatre stages, volunteers as a lunch buddy for Covington Independent Public Schools, and serves on the Northern Kentucky University Friends of Steely Library Board and the Northern Kentucky Streetcar Committee.
