Latonia Halloween Block Party - Saturday 2:00-5:00PM

From a news release:

Latonia will once again be known as Northern Kentucky’s Halloween hot spot!  The block party brings together Latonia neighborhoods and businesses in the center of Latonia at historic Ritte’s Corner. The Halloween Block Party is a free family event for people of all ages.

Ronald McDonald will MC the costume contests. In addition, the Latonia Baptist Church will be sponsoring children’s games; the Latonia Christian Church will host a car show. Trinity United Methodist Church is participating this year.  The City of Covington strongly supports the block party and provides a petting zoo and carriage rides.

Experts like Ronald McDonald have praised Latonia’s Halloween party. Ronald said, “I go to a lot of Halloween parties. The Latonia event is one of the best there is because of all the activities that are offered.”

“New this year, Circus MoJo will be performing on stage around 2:00 pm. They are great and you don’t want to miss them,” says Adam Metzger of Huntington Bank, event co-chair. “The pumpkin carving contest is new also. Please bring your pre-carved pumpkin, one per family. Three prizes will be awarded” says Tonya Monhollen of Hatfield Insurance, event co-chair.

“Prizes will be awarded for the costumes in eight age groups” said Matt Trenkamp of LaRosa’s – Latonia, planning committee member. Costume contest entrants should arrive no later than 2:30 pm.

The Latonia Business Association (LBA) brought back the Latonia tradition of a Halloween Party at Ritte’s Corner in 2005. “Sponsoring the free family event is the LBA’s way of giving back to our community and thanking everyone for supporting our businesses,” said Marvin Wischer, LBA President.
