Woman, 85, Attacked, Car Stolen in Latonia Home Invasion
Around 7:30PM Sunday night a masked man entered a home on the 3200 block of Watson Avenue in Covington's West Latonia neighborhood and held a knife to the throat of the 84-year old woman who lives inside. When the home invasion ended the attacker made off with items from the woman's purse and her vehicle, a maroon Ford Taurus. The woman suffered a cut to her thumb and was treated and released at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. She is now staying with relatives in Taylor Mill.
The suspect is still on the loose. "We have an investigator assigned and it's the only thing he's working on," said Lt. Col. Bryan Carter of the Covington Police Department. "We have an idea of who may have done it and hopefully by the end of the day we'll have a suspect."
Carter does not believe that the suspect knew the victim.
