Tis the season for holiday events and there are plenty in Covington and other Kenton County cities this weekend. Here's a list:

Friday, November 30

COVINGTON

Make Covington Pop Kick-Off Event

Short Pike will be lit up with strands of Christmas lights stretching across the block on Friday night when it gets dark. Workers from the city were busy Thursday installing the poles and Mayor Chuck Scheper will be on hand to help brighten the season with the lights as well as at least two pop-up shops. One will be a vintage clothing shop and another will be a News-Cafe with free coffee sponsored by Roebling Point Bookstore and The River City News.

Free Movie for Kids at Artisan Enterprise Center

Santa's Workshop will also open on Friday night at the Artisan Enterprise Center on West Seventh Street and will feature a free movie for kids. Disney's Prep & Landing will be shown, sponsored by B-Books and Kiki Magazine. Tell the kids to bring their Christmas wish list because we are told there will be a "special guest" showing up!
