Holmes Students Make Gift Tags for Homeless Shelter

From Covington Independent Public Schools:

Every year students at Holmes Middle School and Holmes High School make gift tags to give to Fairhaven Rescue Mission in Covington.Fairhaven, a homeless shelter, provides family emergency assistance, clothing, meals and housing for homeless men.

This year Holmes students who participate in the mentoring, Leadership and Resiliency and the community learning center after-school programs produced 160 handmade gift tags for Fairhaven to use in its Christmas giveaway.
Rev. David Hammers, executive director of Fairhaven, appreciates the students' willingness to make Christmas a little cheerier for families in need.

In a letter last year Rev. Hammers said: "I want to express to you my gratefulness for you willingness to help provide Christmas to the disadvantaged of Northern Kentucky. The gift tags were great! Your care and concern for those in the inner city is an encouragement and a blessing. You made a significant contribution in our ability to provide a wonderful Christmas to many individuals and families."
