Flu Cases in Region Much Higher This Year Than Last
368 cases of flu have been confirmed in Northern Kentucky through December 28, a number much higher than last year's entire flu season in which 284 cases were confirmed. The Northern Kentucky Health Department reports that the Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeing widespread levels of flu activity which means that outbreaks of flu or flu-like symptoms are being reported in at least half of the regiond of the state and the cases of flu have been confirmed by a lab.
The Health Department will administer free flu shot vaccines at local health centers for children under eighteen years of age and without insurance while the cost for adults in similar circumstances will pay $20. The Kenton County Health Center is at 2002 Madison Avenue in Covington and the Campbell County Health Center is at 1098 Monmouth Street in Newport.
