Emergency Shelter Success Story

The Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky on Scott Boulevard in Covington shared another success story from its efforts to turn homelessness into hopefulness. Here is their most recent tale:

Today our shelter assisted a 65 year old veteran into an apartment. He kept repeating over and over, "this is my first apartment". Our shelter has been there for him since the winter of 2010 but he has been homeless for much longer. Today was a good day for him, staff and our shelter volunteers.

Buy your tickets now for the Homeless to Hopeful event coming up on 2/22/13 by calling (859)431-6841. The event will showcase a great documentary about homeless families called "Motel Kids of Orange County". Adult Tickets are $15.00 and student tickets are $5.00. There will also be a panel of local individuals who will speak about the need for shelter and how it helped them on their way to getting back into housing. This great fundraiser helps both Emergency Shelter of NKY and Family Promise of NKY.
