Midway College's Tenth President Takes the Reins
Midway College’s new president, John P. Marsden, has officially begun his duties as the school’s 10th leader.
"I am looking forward to the first few days on campus meeting with faculty, staff and our students," Marsden said. "The welcome my family has already received has been tremendous. I am ready to listen and seek input as we collaboratively formulate a future plan for the College."
Marsden will speak Tuesday, Feb. 5 to the campus community during Convocation at 11 a.m. in the Duthie Auditorium of the Anne Hart Raymond Building. His speech will focus on the future of higher education, including curricular trends, the rise of technology and social media as it impacts the campus, and changing demographics in the marketplace.
Marsden adds that "the speech will highlight several factors underlying the current context of higher education, which we must all understand as we plan for the future of the institution and the needs of our students."
Marsden was selected after the college's Board of Trustees conducted a national search over a six-month period.
