Holmes Eighth Grader Wins State Wrestling Title

From Covington Independent Public Schools:

Seth Hille, an 8th grade wrestler from Holmes Middle School, became a Kentucky Middle School State Champion on Saturday, pinning all four of his opponents in the state tournament. He only needed 43 seconds to defeat his opponent in the finals. Seth, who wrestles in the 168 pound class, capped off his 31-3 season with a dominating performance in the tournament.

Every wrestler Seth beat ended up placing in the top six in the state. He was on the tough side of his bracket. He dominated every match and was never down by points. Seth also finished second in the balloting for “Most Outstanding Wrestler.’’ The winner was a student from Union County who won the 105 lbs. weight class and was a three time state champion.

A total of five wrestlers from Holmes Middle School made it to the state tournament. Congratulations to all!
