Record Number of Flu Cases in Northern Kentucky
A record number of flu cases have been recorded this season, the Northern Kentucky Health Department reported.
Through February 2, a total of 1,947 cases were reported. The health department says that that number makes the 2012-13 flu season to have the highest number of cases ever. One death was reported in Campbell County.
Last year, only 284 cases were reported in the region.
Across Kentucky, the state reports widespread levels of flu activity meaning that outbreaks of flu or flu-like illnesses are being reported in at least half of the regions in the state and the cases of flu have been confirmed by a lab as well.
