Spring is Here, But Snow is Coming

 

Thursday morning, area residents awoke to temperatures in the low twenties and a wind chill in the single digits, twenty-four hours after spring officially began. Some snow is possible Thursday, but looks definite for Sunday.

March Madness, indeed.

Low pressure in the forecast is carrying copious moisture into an unseasonably cold air mass on Sunday with significant snow accumulation possible, the National Weather Service said.

Over the next seven days there won't be a temperature higher than 48.

Today: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 20. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 43. West wind 3 to 5 mph.

Fri. night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. North wind around 5 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Northeast wind around 5 mph.

Sat. night: A chance of snow, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Snow likely, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sun. night: Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.

Mon night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43.
