Latonia Bakery Robbed, Police Looking for Suspect

Covington Police are looking for a suspect after the Bernhard's Bakery in Latonia was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Spike Jones tells The River City News that the bakery was hit around 1:00 p.m. A man entered wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his face, displayed a handgun, threatened an employee, and made off with an undisclosed sum of money.

The suspect fled on foot through the alley behind the bakery and headed toward Southern Avenue. He may have escaped in a white Toyota Camry or similar car, though police are unsure of that.

Covington Police cased the neighborhood "for some time", according to Jones, but the man has yet to be found. The only description of him is that he was likely white.

If you have any information, call Covington Police at 859-356-3191 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
