Holmes Basketball Player Gets Offer from Purdue
Holmes sophomore point guard James "Beetle" Bolden has another offer from an NCAA Division I school according to a report in Next Cats which says the Purdue Boilermakers want Bolden on the team:
The 5-foot-11 guard was in West Lafayette on Thursday to take an unofficial visit to Purdue. He received the offer during that visit, Holmes Coach Jason Booher said.
Booher told the Herald-Leader that Bolden plans to visit Cincinnati on Tuesday and hopes to make an unofficial visit to Kentucky sometime in the next couple of weeks. Butler and Iowa State are among the other schools that have expressed early interest.
Purdue offered Bolden a scholarship during the visit, according to the report. Xavier and Ohio University have also offered Bolden scholarships.
After leading Holmes to the quarterfinals of the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen, Bolden reportedly started to get interest from the University of Kentucky. Bettle was named the Ninth Region Player of the Year for 2012-13.
